More Than A Game
Everyone dreams of how they want their life to be. But in order to make that dream come true, it depends on the amount of work and sacrifice you have. Like they say, ‘Thing’s Don’t Come Easy’. Things have to be earned by hard work.
When i was younger, i remember this one time where i watched this documentary about ‘Lebron’ it was called
‘MORE THAN A GAME’. It really inspired me to push forward and work hard for my dream, of opening my own Italian restaurant and doing what i enjoy doing. There’s really no point on studying something you hate because the salary is good. Face reality you will get bored. It’s always been my dream to have my own restaurant. There’s something about food, that always keeps me on wanting more. Serving people, seeing smiles on their face after they have their first bite. That feeling you get, when someone is smiling because of you, now that’s a feeling that can always be remembered. I’m still a long way from making my dream come true, but i’m not giving up. I’ve set goals and standards for my self. I’ll achieve them, i believe i can. This video has really inspired me a lot. Lebron had nothing all he had was his friends and his mum, and look where he is now. He’s in the NBA. Even though it was though for him growing up, he didn’t give up one three things, his family, his friends and his love the game.
I’ve attached the movie. Take a look. It may inspire you, like it did for me.
Conviction
The breeze blows
Where the sun sets
Carry all the pain
Carry all burdens
Ending tonight
Tomorrow unsure
The cold wind blows
Maybe it carries me too
So far away
You wouldn’t know
I could be forgotten
Nameless perhaps
Under the tree
The seed I’ve planted
The sins grow
I pray the flowers do not bloom
Waiting
Where the breeze doesn’t reach
Where the sun rises
I hope it does
Questions left
Unanswered and forgotten
Is this reality
Or just smoke and mirrors?
Will my memory fade?
Like photographs
In hiding
They too are afraid
The mirrors perjure everyone but me
I am too deceiving
What lies beneath
The polished superficial?
The magic all illusions
He pulls the rabbit out of his hat
How does he do it?
I’ll never know
Until I do
Maybe then I too
Can
Reappear
Where the sun rises
I emerge as well
But will the sun rise tomorrow?
I can’t tell.
Will I ever feel the rising sun on my skin?
Dream vs Work.
I came across this picture the other day.

It’s true. Those who are out there and working hard are the ones who succeed. There’s no point sitting on your sofa, waiting for your dreams to come true. Dreams do come true, but thats up to you, whether or not you are willing to work hard for it no matter what.

Cement Truck Kills 2 Boys
In latest news,
Springfield Secondary student Nigel Yap, 13, had been giving his younger brother Donovan, 7, a lift home from school on his bicycle after CCA when they were killed by a cement truck. The accident had occurred along Tampines Avenue 9 yesterday evening (Jan 28).
Mr Baey said he has visited the family and they were devastated by the tragedy. “I heard from the grandmother that they are very sensible kids, that’s why they are okay for the elder brother to fetch his younger brother home,” he said.
He also said the cement mixer was likely heading to a nearby Build-to-Order HDB project where two blocks are currently being built. There is also an MRT construction site nearby. The mother of the two boys identified their bodies this morning (Jan 29). She had arrived at the mortuary just before 8am surrounded by a group of relatives, friends, and a man who is believed to be her husband.
The bodies of both boys have since reached the wake today at 3.35pm.
The driver of the cement truck, a 56-year-old Singaporean dressed in yellow construction boots and hat, was arrested by Police at the scene for causing death by a rash act.
